Description
Ming or Early Qing Chinese Bronze Censer Incense Burner Wing Handles Xuande Mark Supported on three legs, finely cast inverted bell form, arched wing handles, with open rectangular panels. Xuande mark on the base. Made during the Ming or early Qing Dynasty. About 6 3/4 inches maximum width across the handles. About 3 1/4 inches in maximum height (tip of then handles). About 621 grams in weight. Good condition with some very old antique repairs. Small copper insert on the rim (see photos), at the top of a short crack visible on the exterior, but not the interior. Small led filled hole above one leg. Small bronze insert at the end of a crack on the base edge. These repairs are all hundreds of years old, and give character and testimony to the life of a treasured bronze. Those that follow my auctions may have noticed I'm selling my collection of Chinese Later Bronze censers.
